With pleasure! There are 5 interlocking with this being the first essay, all linked together at the bottom. I'd be interested to know your honesty thoughts!
I’m fascinated to see you differentiate types of movement — they’re all so true, of course, but they also line up with five of the Seven Type of Rest that Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith does a lot of writing and speaking on. And in conversations with these between my health coach & I, we’d come to the conclusion that each type of rest correlates to a type of energy/exertion being used [bcs we’re talking about managing an energy-limiting chronic illness, this topic surfaces a lot!].
Dalton-Smith’s framework also adds Creative Rest and Sensory Rest — I can definitely see Creativity as its own form of motion. Will have to ponder what the movement parallel of Sensory Rest would be.
Such a lovely and timely reflection. I’m so glad you are continuing this thread of reflections and grateful to watch the ways it’s not just a reflection but also a conversation.
Yes, yes, may we all learn from each other new dances in our dance of life, even when, or especially when, the dance includes the cross of death, that slows our movement into eternity!
This resonates so loudly! I just finished writing a series on this and I'm thrilled to see others writing and sharing these techniques.
I’m glad it resonates! Please share your essay!

This is so fascinating I need to explore all of these topics deeper!
